Volunteer Spotlight

Volunteers are the heart of the Foundation!

Without our wonderful volunteers, the success of this Foundation would not be possible. Our volunteers have helped us in both big and small ways, and we truly could not do it without these dedicated and creative individuals. If you are interested in joining our team please complete our volunteer application form.

Meet one of our volunteers: Bob Toole

The Caring Community Foundation recognizes and thanks Bob Toole for the countless tasks he takes on in support of the Foundation's efforts.  Bob has helped with acquisitions, event planning, writing thank you notes, and addressing invitations.  His willingness to step in and help with any task is always greatly appreciated.

A few interesting facts about Bob:

  • Bob has been working as a NC Real Estate Broker for over 15 years in the Triangle area and is currently working for Raleigh-Cary Realty. He is also a co-owner of Spring Street Investments Group LLC with Residential and Commercial holdings in Wilmington NC and Beaufort County.
  • Bob and his family reside in North Hills where his wife, Cheryl, grew up. Cheryl works for United Therapeutics as a manager. They have a son, Shane, who is a freshman at Cardinal Gibbons H.S. where he plays JV basketball.
  • Bob and his family enjoy their time at their cottage on Emerald Isle. It's a great place for them to relax and spend time with friends, as well as enjoy surfing at the point. His son, Shane, now has his own surfboard and is learning the sport quickly.

"What brought me to The Caring Community Foundation happened the day I attended the 10th Annual Pay It Forward Celebration at The Renaissance Hotel. My sister Colleen was just diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer the previous day and I was overcome with the thought of my little sister having to fight this disease. I had a change of heart about attending the PIF Celebration and decided to attend with Cheryl by my side. This was my first time attending the Pay It Forward Celebration. When I heard the founder, Jill Wolford, speak about her journey of reaching ten years of being cancer free I knew that I was brought to this charity for a reason-to help in any way that I can and to make it easier for those that are fighting cancer. I met Jill and her husband Eric that night and asked what I could do to help. Here begins my journey of volunteering with The Caring Community Foundation." --Bob Toole
